The room went dark, the silence fell over him. He stayed as still as he could. His breath steadied, but his heart beat fast. He heard scuffling in a corner of the dark room. He thought he was alone. The light flicked on, then back off. He didn't see anything but the room. Feeling relieved, he sighed and sat on the floor to wait for the lights. He didn't want to risk hurting himself getting around the room to sit on a chair. As he sat there, noises emitted from random places around the dark room. A noise, which sounded like breathing, sounded as though it was right next to him. He ignored it.
"Hello." A tiny voice spoke from beside him. "Is it too dark for you?" It chuckled and scuttled away. The man sat there, not knowing what to do about the voice or the noises the creature made. He was scared. He closed his eyes for a moment, but opened them to see a creature lit by a dim light. It was small. had a mask and a cloak, but the mask was what scared him. It had a smiling face, but the teeth weren't normal. The eyes were big and round, but seemed to stare through him. The lights went out and the man backed into a corner, too frightened to move afterward. He kept his eyes open, but still couldn't see anything. A very dim light crept itself inside the room as the door out opened. A girl flicked the light switch, but nothing happened. She opened the door the rest of the way, shining light on the man. The creature had vanished from sight. "Why are you sitting in the dark?" She looked at him, then looked around the room. He stared at her with a face that looked to have seen death himself. She shook her head and went to close the door. The creature popped it's head down and pulled it's mask away from it's face, just to frighten the girl. This worked. She screamed and passed out, falling onto the floor. The creature laughed and closed the door, dropping down and vanishing. The chuckle was heard again. "She passed out.." The creature rubbed on his leg, sending chills up him. He backed away. "Why?" The man asked, ignoring the glee from the creature about the girl. "Because.. Why not?" The creature laughed again. A light emitted from a corner of the room. Bright enough to see the creature. "Hello.. My name.. is Stitch." The creature danced around in the spot it stood in. "I wear a mask and hide my true face. I am.. the old you, the old anyone.." It lifted the mask to reveal it's face. Gnarled and scarred, he still smiled like the smile on the mask. Ear to ear. He put the mask back to his face. "So, human.." He began as he scuffled his way over to the man. "Are you frightened?" He situated himself in front of the man. The man looked at the creature, but only for a second. Any longer and he might have lost his mind. Stitch had the effect on everyone. Stitch smiled grimly under his mask. "Oh I do love a human who can see what I can do." He laughed and scooted closer to the man, who had no room to move away. The creature reached his hand toward the man, his fingers seemed to be like daggers. He poked the man's cheek, cutting into his flesh, then running his finger down, cutting it's way through . The man didn't scream. Fear kept him form it. He didn't make a sound, didn't move, just let Stitch do it. "Fear.. funny thing.. It's paralyzing." Stitch laughed maniacally, sending chills down the man's spine. Stitch then slid his fingers into the skin of the man's cheek. This was very painful for the man, but he couldn't stop it. He sat there, writhing in pain. "I guess you want an explanation?" Stitch stopped, then pulled his fingers out. "I don't have one!" He laughed maniacally again. the man stared at Stitch, trying to ignore the way he makes people go insane slowly but surely. "Well, hate me, love me, I'm still tormenting you!" Stitch skipped about the room, laughing. Stitch stopped and looked at the man, who was still staring at him. "Lose the sane mind in which you knew once. That is what will happen if you stare at me for so long. I don't mind you losing your mind, but it's less fun." He explained, using his hands. The man covered his face with his arms, hiding himself as if in a ball. "Oh, so you've lost it already? That makes my job shorter than normal.." He sounded disappointed. "I won't kill you, I'm not that kind of monster." He went over to the man and patted his head. "Say goodbye to your mind, it's swimming away." Stitch chuckled. then vanished from sight. The light in the corner went off and the main light came on. He was left alone, his mind lost and no one to help. Just the one man, no mind with sanity, just one physical being.
